A sunrise shot a caught the other day, just took a few days to get around to it. I really like the con trails criss-crossing the sky.

Highway Sign
I always thought this angle for a highway sign was pretty interesting. Finally, I got one that is fairly decent.

A Few Sunrise Shots
I got lucky this morning and managed to snap a few really great shots of a terrific Kansas sunrise.

The Kaw
The Kansas river as it winds through Lawrence at sunrise. I love bridges. I’m not sure why, but riding over them always brightens my spirits.

Trust & Love
Some of these are taken by the 5/8 when she rides with me. Like this one of our good friends Bill and Dana. Talk about completely trust and love. They are an amazing couple, and some of the best people I know.

The Assumption
This is Assumption Church in Topeka, KS - where I live. I lucked out on my way to the bank one day and randomly shot at the church as I passed. The angle and the stark blue sky against the reddish brick make a great contrast I think.

In Focus
I didn't wash my ride or anything for these pictures. I wanted to just capture things as they are in every day life. I spend way more time riding than I do washing. For some, they think I don't take proper care of Ruby, but she's a dirty girl, and likes to play that way. This picture, I think I like it so much probably because it is mostly in focus and without motion blur. Plus the angle makes it rather interesting, don't you think?

Introduction
I saw a video on the Harley Davidson website about a Josh Krupius exhibit in the museum. I'd never heard of him before, but I liked his pictures, many taken from the saddle of his rat bike. This lead me to do a YouTube search, and the find of more videos shot by him.
Then, I got inspired. I grabbed my old Nikon D50 digital SLR, cleared off the memory card and hung it around my neck. I started shooting while I was riding. I would say I average about 200 frames a day on my 130 mile round trip commute to work. Out of those circa 200 shots, I get maybe one or two that are actually somewhat decent.
I'm getting better though, knowing how to hold the camera and get the shot you want without looking through the view finder is a skill all its own. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get some really good shots off.
In the meantime, I'm going to post here some of the shots I like best from my experiments. I hope you enjoy them.
